About the Script
Arabic is written from right to left, and the letters join up like beautiful handwriting. In Egypt, people speak a friendly local kind of Arabic called Masri - so you'll hear 'ahlan!' and 'izzayak?' in the street. One fun rule: the letter qaf is often said as a tiny catch in the throat (like the pause in 'uh-oh'), so the word for cat sounds like 'otta'.
